Show Notes
This week on the clothesline we interview Dr Jane Thomason an inspiration to women and men everywhere. Dr Thomason - CEO Blockchain Quantum Impact, has been traveling since she was 14, dedicating much of her life to the wellbeing of others at home and abroad. Jane explains her experience aiding in the reconstruction after the Boxing Day tsunami in 2004 which was believed to be the deadliest tsunami in history, killing more than 230,000 people across 14 countries. Jane went on to say that she had a Eureka moment recounting her experiences. “It wasn’t just that people were lost - but no one knew anyone was because all of the identities had been washed away, all of the bank records were washed away, all of the land records were washed away.” Jane says that this was her ‘Aha’ moment where she knew blockchain could solve many of the problems she had witnessed. Jane is an incredible woman and well known as the founder of the British Blockchain association as well as being one of the founding participants to the Slave Free Trade’s World Blockchain Academy for Girls and these are just two of her contributions to the blockchain space. If you are in Brisbane you can also find her at the Brisbane Women in Blockchain meetups. Listening to Dr Thomason is a reminder that we all have a role to play in the blockchain space to help solve problems and positively influence others.
